GRAPHIC ROOM INSTALLATION 2024

The photographic spatial installation "Last Generation" is the result of engaging with the location and its history, raising questions about the role of photography as a means of democratization and transcultural dialogue. Ruth Bamberg delves deeply into the history of the identity-shaping monument, the Alte Brotfabrik Overbeck, built in 1904. This location is not only a witness to the resistance against Nazi tyranny from 1933 to 1945, but also a symbol of the confrontation with discrimination, racism, and nationalist identity thinking.

Ruth Bamberg is distinguished by her multifaceted artistic approach, which examines antisocial aspects of human existence and transforms them into an experience that is both iconographically visible and emotionally tangible.

In addition to video installations, her work includes immersive 3D spaces and interdisciplinary projects in the spirit of Social Sculpture. Through her collaboration with renowned directors such as Christoph Schlingensief and Sönke Wortmann, she has established herself as a freelance artist.

We promise you an exciting experience in the place of love and passion in the north of Duisburg.

A catalog will be published for the exhibition. A limited special edition with a signed photo by the artist is available upon request.
